This workshop is suitable for West Coast Swing dancers who have danced for at least 3+ months and are comfortable with the 5 basic patterns.

Filipe is an experienced West Coast Swing dancer and instructor, currently competing on the European WCS circuit and thrilled to have reached the World Swing Dance Council (WSDC) Advanced Division this year. He most recently placed 1st in the Advanced/All Star Jack & Jill at the Dutch Open 2025.

He is a certified West Coast Swing teacher, and three-time winner of the West Coast Swing UK “Dancers’ Favourite Male Dancer” Award.

To keep growing creatively, he trains in a range of solo styles at Jazzy Dance Studios, including ballet, street jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and dancehall, and he loves how this cross-training enriches my West Coast Swing.

Whether he is teaching, performing, or competing, he is passionate about helping dancers find musicality, quality of movement, and the joy of expression through West Coast Swing.

Workshop 1 - Connected & Clear: Technique for Better West Coast Swing Partnerships

Great West Coast Swing isn’t necessarily about more patterns — it’s about how you move together.

In this workshop, we’ll focus on practical techniques that improve connection, clarity, and comfort in your partnership. You’ll explore body awareness, tone, elasticity, and timing so that your dancing feels smoother, more responsive, and easier — for both leaders and followers.

Perfect for dancers who want their West Coast Swing to feel more effortless and connected on the social floor.

Workshop 2 – Musicality: Hear It. Feel It. Dance It: Musicality That Changes Your West Coast Swing

Musicality is what makes dancing feel alive.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to listen to music more actively and translate what you hear into your movement. You'll have practical tools to make your dancing feel more expressive, playful, and intentional, whether you lead or follow.

This class is about dancing with the music, not just to it!
